About Us

Our Vision

We envision a community where every child we serve is equipped with the basic skills they need to succeed as prosperous, independent, and successful members of our society.

Our Mission

Meet community needs today.

Advance community leadership for tomorrow.

We unite and empower diverse people to strengthen our community while enhancing the leadership skills needed to become lifelong contributors to the development of healthy and vibrant communities.

Our History

Serve Tri-Cities (formerly known as Regional Service Corps) was founded in October 1992. From humble beginnings and just six Corps Members, the program has grown to serve more than a dozen schools and even more community organizations with an average force of 30 Corps Members per year.

Since 1992, nearly a thousand people from all walks of life have brightened the lives of others. They also improved themselves through our unique Leadership Enhancement Program that's widely recognized as a best practice in the National Service field.

Where You Fit In

Serve Tri-Cities has been part of the AmeriCorps National Service Network of national service programs since 1994. These programs engage adults of all ages and backgrounds in service to meet the nation's critical needs in education, public safety, health, and environment. AmeriCorps, the domestic version of the Peace Corps, gives more than 50,000 people per year the opportunity to apply their skills toward helping others in their communities.

Who Joins?

Each year we welcome a diverse team. They include:

  • Recent graduates who want the experience that employers demand …
  • Students who need time off to earn money to meet academic goals …
  • Parents ready to explore careers now that their children are in school …
  • People who don't feel fulfilled in their current jobs … and,
  • Retirees who have no interest in a rocking chair!

So, whether you are 18 years old or 81 years young, you can be part of our team. We're looking for enthusiastic adults who are ready to dedicate themselves to a full-time, ten-month term of service. We appreciate those who bring their own gifts, talents and skills. Hopefully, those gifts include a can-do attitude, a sense of humor, a zest for learning, and a strong desire to help others.
